Dr. Elizabeth Crabtree-Butler was born and raised in Pound Ridge New York. She attended Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster Pennsylvania where she earned her BA in biology. She received her DVM from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine where she graduated with high honors.
Dr. Crabtree-Butler completed an internship in large (equine) animal medicine and surgery at the Fairfield Equine Associates in Newtown CT, and then completed a second specialty internship in ophthalmology. She completed her residency at North Carolina State University, becoming a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists.
Dr. Crabtree-Butler has published multiple research papers focused on gene therapy for ocular diseases and a textbook chapter in Equine Ophthalmology.
Dr. Crabtree-Butler’s clinical interests include: corneal disease, equine recurrent uveitis and corrective eyelid surgery. Dr. Crabtree-Butler has extensive training in numerous species.
