As we know too well, the foundation of our horse’s health relies on preventing disease along with the early recognition of health challenges. To better meet this need Fairfield Equine is pleased to introduce our expanded Wellness Program.
This program will concentrate on several important areas of your horse’s well-being.
Central to our Wellness Program is a yearly physical examination. In an effort to recognize and treat emerging health issues, our doctors will focus on those body systems most likely to impact your horse’s well-being. In addition to a thorough physical exam, this yearly visit will provide a forum for you to discuss your concerns about your horse’s health with our veterinarians. We will also take this opportunity to review your horse’s nutritional program.
As always, we will help you select the inoculations that are necessary to protect horses from contagious diseases in our area. Seasonal vaccinations are necessary to provide optimum disease prevention.
Essential to any preventive health program is parasite control. Our recommended method of deworming is actually parasite prevention through use of the daily dewormer, Strongid-C. To facilitate its use, we will arrange the necessary delivery of Strongid-C along with the twice yearly paste deworming that is recommended with the daily deworming schedule. As you may know, Strongid-C is supported by Pfizer’s Preventicare Program. We will assist your horse’s enrollment in this beneficial program. For those clients who prefer to use conventional paste dewormers, we can provide you a recommended schedule as well as the necessary dewormers at a rate consistent with current catalogue prices.
To ensure that your horse is cared for on a consistent basis, we would like to assist you in the scheduling process. We are able to schedule necessary appointments at a time that is convenient for you and your stable.
