Dr.Alan Nixon, BVSc, MS is the Chief of Surgery at Cornell University. He received his BVSc from the University of Sydney and his MS in Clinical Studies from Colorado Start University. Dr. Nixon has been the recipient of numerous honors and awards, notably the Most Outstanding Resident Presentation at the Annual Scientific Meeting of the ACVS 1982 and 2000, Most Outstanding Scientific article in Veterinary Surgery 1983, the Neer Award for American Shoulder and Elbow surgeons 2002 and the Senior Fellowship Award from the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Disease. Dr. Nixon has had over 144 journal publications, 16 text book chapters and authored Equine Fracture Repair.
